Guess who we went for a walk with this week? I’ll give you a clue… Corbin and Ivy’s favorite thing about this walking guest is the size of it’s poop!!!! YAY for poop!! These kids are sitting in anticipation of meeting our walking guest!!!!
It’s Mira the most beautiful kind horse ever!
And this is her best friend, the equally beautiful and fun Nicole! She just became a MRS!!! WOOT WOOT… Sorry to all my male readers she’s taken and happy about it!! Probably a lot happier with her marriage than how my kiddos are reacting to this amazing experience that they were missing out on, by throwing themselves over the stroller in a frantic search for snacks, and picking their noses!! Awesome kids! Just Awesome!!
Corbin came around first and tried to feed beautiful Mira some long grass.
Success!
Then Ivy and I fed Mira some cut up apples that we prepared for her that morning! Don’t be fooled by Ivy’s smile! This was the only smile that came from her face the whole time and it was magically captured by the beautiful Nicole.
It was so cute when I told Corbin that we would be going to meet a horse that morning and that maybe we should bring her a snack like apples, he ran outside to Grandma’s apple tree and collected a bag full of 4 small apples. So thoughtful Toots!!
This is how Ivy really felt about the horse. Don’t worry we didn’t torture her. This was a spilt second photo-op and then she was down safe in my arms. But she was the first child to brave sitting on the horse! Way to go IVY!!!!
And at the very end I tricked Corbin onto the horse too. He liked it more than he thought he would. Love his unsure smile!!
And I love how much my Nicole loves my Kiddos! Thanks so much for this amazing experience!
I don’t know what Corbin is doing in this next pic but it probably means that this place rocks and he had a great time commenting on all the horse poop! Or he joined a gang, that I’m unaware of!
We had a great time over all on this awesomely cute little loop trail with the beautiful Mira and Nicole! Pushing a double stroller was a bit of a workout which was a bonus, and the kids loved all the poop that we dodged on the path so over all this trip was a WIN! Probably the best walk the kids have ever been on! Thanks so much Nicole for this Horsey Adventure! We love you!!
I hope this post inspires you to find the best out an awesome adventure that your kiddos may not find as exciting as you do. This has kind of been a theme in my life lately, the kiddos not loving what I think they will (in the moment – because I know they had fun because they talk about it a lot after the fact). In these experiences I look for what they are interested in, and in this experience it was snacks and Poop! And we went with it. They loved pointing out all the poop and I’d pretend to steer the stroller into the poop and they would squeal with delight (or fear – “Mom wouldn’t put us in the poop – would she?”). Poop is my life! Until next time, find a way to enjoy the poop in life with your kids, and create beautiful memories!
XO JCL
P.S. After going on this walk Corbin refers to the horse daily in a positive light, so I know that he had a great time and looks forward to seeing more horses in the future, but he would like to note that he would like to see the horses “next year!” I guess this was enough fun for a whole year. See you next year Mira!! I’ll miss you!
P.P.S. Here is a link to our Hoof Prints Barnyard Adventure that also didn’t go as I thought it would!
