I am always looking for new ideas of how to transform everyday objects into creative, beautiful, and cute new things. And when I saw Honestly… WTF‘ s Post called DIY Braided Hex Nut Bracelet I wanted to try it for myself.
I was at Home Depot with Shawn, as he was spending his $500 Christmas present gift certificate, when I started finding some super cute things that I wanted too. He is so good to me. He let me sneak a few little things in the cart for myself, like these silver Hex Nuts, some super cute spray paints, some interesting knobs (I love cool knobs :)) and neon PINK duct tape!
I already had the cotton twine at home, but I did get some bracelet clasps from Michael’s Craft Store (they will have almost all of your crafting needs, including the embroidery thread which I used for the other cute bracelets).
So… then I just followed the tutorial and this is want I made!
Then I decided to make another one with the Hex Nuts going all the way around.
It was fun making them, but I have yet to wear them. They are a little heavy. I do prefer the smaller dainty jewelry.
I used the same method to make the gold and aqua bracelet on the left and I really love how it turned out.
You can experiment with different colored threads and beads to make your own super cute bracelets!
Let me know if you have any ideas on how to use other objects as jewelry! I love sharing ideas!
Have fun creating!
