Happy Easter Everyone! This is such a fun time of the year. Everything’s growing and starting to bloom. And it’s the perfect time to document your kiddos cuteness factor!! Lol. I’m not kidding… Easter is a very cute time of the year! Every Easter since my kiddos have been born, we have a little DIY Easter kids photoshoot tradition. I make them dress in cute Easter-ish outfits and make them pose (bribe them to death), for some super cute photos! I’m definitely not a professional photographer (not one bit), and I really have no idea how to use my camera besides putting it on a pre programmed setting and shooting! If this sounds like you, than AWESOME! You can create the same photography looks as me! I’ll just give you some fun easy prop ideas, to make your photos a little more fun, silly, and enjoyable for the kiddos!
EASY PROP IDEAS FOR A DIY EASTER KIDS PHOTOSHOOT
Easy Prop Ideas: Banners/Bunting/Tassels
Decorate your surroundings, but don’t go crazy! You want your kids to be the main event. Remember that simple is better!! (At least it is in my mind it is, Lol). Simple is also easier…(wink).
Make some layers in your back ground! Some ideas include hanging up a banner, bunting, tassels, or garland! You could even hang an Easter wreath in the background to add a little Easter flare! Use your imagination and creativity to create something fun! I used my fun Spring Free Printable Banner! I also made a round-up of other creative people’s, awesome Free Printable Alphabet Banners, so that you can use to print out the Easter banner of your dreams!
Easy Prop Ideas: Something to Sit On
Adding something to sit on gives your photo more levels. levels are fun for the eye. I used a fun puff stool, that I found at Homesense. Other ideas include a comfy kids chair, a vintage-y looking chair, even a kids table and chair set would be fun (I wish we had one, but we don’t). And make the kids share the chair!! Lol! It makes them cuddle!!!! (wink).
Easy Prop Ideas: Stuffed Bunnies!!
So, I don’t think you can get more Easter-y than a stuffed bunny! Well unless you have a REAL bunny! That would be awesome! But we don’t, so we used our stuffies! Don’t have a stuffed bunny??… I made a fun super easy Stuffed Bunny Tutorial here, as well, I created a fun round-up of bunny related sewing projects here!
Easy Prop Ideas: Bunny Ears
It’s super cute to turn your kiddos into bunnies!! The dollar store is the place to go for cheap fun bunny ears, but if you are against the dollar store for some reason… you can also make your own!! There is a fun easy bunny ear sewing project in my round-up of bunny related sewing projects! Check em out!
Easy Pop Ideas: Carrots
I so wish we had some real carrots. I went to get my carrots out of my fridge and they were not healthy enough to give to the children (AKA Rotten!! woomp woomp)…. So luckily I had some plastic Easter eggs that look like carrots! I think the kids were very happy with these fake carrots! (wink)
Easy Prop Ideas: Chocolate!!!
OKAY!!! This is probably the most important prop of all!! Especially chocolate wrapped tightly and hard to open, but not too hard to open, that they can’t do it themselves! Chocolate is the magic that gets your kids to sit long enough to take a decent photo. If you can break their concentration from the chocolate that is!!! LOL… kids!! Plus melted chocolate makes for some cute photos!! Messy but CUTE!!!
KISSES!!
And last, but not least, the free prop of KISSES!! Force it, bribe for it, document it, and savor it forever!
