Tarnish!! The death of all silver… but it doesn’t have to be! Over the years my Shawnikins has bought me a few special pieces of jewelry that have slowly turned a bit of an unsightly black color, and then eventually found their grave on my jewelry stand. But!! What if we could reverse these signs of jewelry ageing? And that tarnished silver could be a thing of the past, with only a couple of items that can be found in almost everyone’s home… right now!! This super simple DIY Natural Silver Cleaner is guaranteed to make you dripping in silver once again. Because it’s your time to shine girlfriend!
Although the desire to be dripping in silver is always a great reason to clean all of the jewelry you currently own, one of the main reasons that I wanted to find a Natural silver cleaner was to revive the jewelry that I inherited from my beautiful mom. She passed away over 11 years ago, and I loved her dainty jewelry style. Also you can imagine the state that her pretty jewelry was in, after hanging on a display stand for that long. It was time to bring it back to life!
In my investigation into Silver cleaners on Amazon, I came across lots of conflicting reviews regarding their effectiveness… Plus I don’t like spending money on something that MIGHT work… Then I came across the magical combination of tinfoil, baking soda, and boiling water! All ingredients that we have in our home and I’m sure you do too! AWESOME! No Chemicals (maybe a little chemical reaction), the joy of tarnish disappearing right before of your eyes. What could be better?!?! WELL… Let me tell you….

- More Baking Soda!!!!
METHOD TO CLEAN SILVER JEWELRY WITH NATURAL INGREDIENTS:
STEP 1: Bring a pot of water to boiling temperature.
STEP 2: Line your glass bowl with crinkly tinfoil.
STEP 3: Dump a bunch of baking soda on the tinfoil.
STEP 4: Pour the boiling water over the baking soda.
STEP 5: Place your silver jewelry into the concoction.
STEP 6: Wait a few minutes…………………………….
STEP 7: Remove your silver jewelry from the concoction with plastic tongs, and place the jewelry in the palm of your hand.
You may notice that your jewelry is not perfectly tarnish free yet. This is because it can be hard for the tinfoil to reach all the small dainty crevasses that make your jewelry so beautiful.
STEP 8: Dump a bunch more baking soda (natural silver cleaner) in your hand with the your silver jewelry.
STEP 9: Rub baking soda (natural silver cleaner) all over your silver jewels.
You will notice that the baking soda will start to turn grey!! So surprisingly rewarding!!
STEP 10: Rinse your natural silver cleaner off with cold water to revel your spectacular silver jewelry in all of it’s glory!
Now you can use this Natural silver Cleaner technique to bring all of your special silver jewelry back to life. I’m so happy to have been able to revive all of my moms special jewelry so that I can enjoy them, and eventually pass them down to the kiddos when they become a bit more responsible. Wink!
I hope you found this tutorial to be as life changing as I did. I hope you enjoy your new life dripping in shiny silver jewelry, and as always… enjoy creating beautiful things everyday!
