So, It’s Christmas time and I love starting a blog off with some fun song lyrics, but I just can’t decide what the lyrics are the best to represent this years DIY Christmas Village Wreath…
- Baby Please Come Home (Just kidding, you can’t come home)
- Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas (everyone’s troubles will be miles away)
- Grandma got Run Over by a Reindeer (KIDDING!!!)
To represent the beauty of this years season and the spirit of everyone staying safe and not gathering together, I thought a single home Christmas village Wreath was fitting. Just to remind us that just because we can’t get together with all of our loved ones this year, that we can still find the beauty in what we do have, right here at home. Plus I can just imagine the beauty of waking up on Christmas in a cabin in the forest covered in snow!! Dreamy Christmas Dreams!

STEPS TO MAKE A CHRISTMAS VILLAGE WREATH:
NOTE: This wreath is the easiest made while it’s hanging up, so find a hook and hang your wreath up, and get creating!
Step #1: Wind your faux greenery garlands around the bottom of the wreath and wind your silver tinsel garlands around the top of your wreath.
Step #2: Paint your plastic house white. I did a light layer of white paint on places of the house where I imagined light snow and heavier white where I imagined snow would collect.
Side note: I had planned to put lots of houses on this village wreath but when I was putting them on the wreath it just looked too busy, and I was really going for a more simple wreath this year. But you can add as many houses as your heart desires!
Step #3: Hot Glue your House to the faux greenery.
Step #4: Totally Optional , because you can use the beautiful bottle brush trees in their original state too. But I had bleached my trees a few years ago so I thought I’d dye some of them a couple different shades of green to add a little color to the wreath.
To Bleach your trees you mix about half bleach and half water into a glass bowl. Submerge your bottle brush trees and swoosh them around until they are whiteish… then rinse with water, and lastly blow dry them so they don’t rust!
If you want to then dye them Mix some dye as per the dyes directions, and you only have to dip the trees for a couple of seconds to get them to hold the color. Then let them rest on a paper towel to drain off the excess dye, and then use a blow dryer to blow them dry so they don’t rust!
Step #5: Glue your beautiful bottle brush trees to your wreath!
Step #6: Use invisible thread to string up the wood snowflakes to the wire wreath.
Step #7: I wound a strand of snowflake twinkle lights around the top of the wreath.
Step #8: Take your wreath outside and give it a layer of spray snow. And VOILA!! You have a festive fun DIY Christmas Village wreath to put on your front door… or above your mantel, on your wall, or any other place one would put a fun Christmas wreath!
I hope this fun wreath tutorial has inspired you to create a little DIY Christmas Village Wreath for your own home… or maybe it’s a wreath with one house in the forest wreath… wink!
Until next time, enjoy a love filled cozy Christmas, and Don’t forget to create beautiful things everyday!
