So it’s a beautiful day today, in sunny freezing cold Kelowna. And the kids have ventured with their Daddio to the park to go sledding. I think their sledding consists more of running up and down a little slope… But they love it! I needed a little me time so I didn’t adventure with them today.. instead I brainstormed ideas to create the kids a fun winter themed lunch. And a bagel headed Frosty the Snowman is what I came up with! Those weak melon arms are supposed to be giving the kids two thumbs up, but instead they look meditative, or could be flipping the finger… LOL, They were supposed to be THUMBS!!! Anyways… be inspired by my Frosty the Snowman Bagel and make them for your own kiddos… or if you are an adult and feel you need a little Frosty too… DO IT!
INGREDIENTS FOR FROSTY THE SNOWMAN BAGEL
- Half of a Bagel (we had the Everything Bagel)
- Original Cream Cheese
- 1 Carrot
- 8 or so Raisins
- 2 slices of Cantaloupe Melon (not in photo above, as they were a last minute addition… Every snowman needs to be giving a big thumbs up YO!)
METHOD TO MAKE FROSTY THE SNOWMAN BAGEL
Step 1: Toast Bagel.
Step 2: Spread Cream Cheese on toasted Bagel. Spread it on thick, to make sure it looks all white like snow!
Step 3: Place Raisin eyes and smile on the Cream Cheese. Make whatever facial expression that makes you happy. Corbin’s Frosty was winking at him!!
Step 4: Put on a Carrot nose! I filled the hole of the Bagel with Cream Cheese to hold the Carrot in place. My kiddos favorite part of this meal is the Cream Cheese, so don’t worry I was not wasting Cream Cheese just to hold up his nose!
Step 5: Sculpt the Cantaloupe into super awesome Frosty the Snowman muscle arms, with hands that are giving a thumbs up! This is a must! (wink)
And these are my Frosty the Snowman bagel creations! Thank you… thank you… I know they are cool! (wink)
Corbin was pretty freaken excited about it…
And Ivy was excited too for her Frosty the Snowman Bagel. Not apprehensive as this photo may portray… It’s really just the clearest photo of her, because she was jumping around and being a 2-year-old crazy girl!
So, I thought I’d throw in a little parenting tip, that I discovered this Valentines day!
Do you have kids that won’t stay at the table to eat?? Do your children want to go play or run around or under the table the whole meal time?? Do your kids act like animals on the floor while you feed them like baby animals, because what animal sits in a chair… right?? Do your kids seem to have to use the bathroom as soon as everyone is at the table and enjoying their meal?? Do your kids climb all over the table because what you are eating is so much better than theirs, even though it’s the same THING!!! WELL… Let me tell you!! If you use this one simple tip all your meal time problems will disappear… FOREVER!!
The secret is CANDLES!! Put some lit candles on the table and the kids will not only stay at the table, but they will also not need their toys at the table, they will make conversations with you about their day, they will not feel the need to climb on the table, and they will be hypnotized by FIRE!
LOL. I’m not joking… they now sit at the table a lot more than without candles. I don’t let them eat unattended with fire obviously, but it seriously WORKS!! Probably not forever… but for the meantime, I’ll take it!
Do you have any creative ways to keep your kiddos in their seat during meals? I’d love to hear them?
The next photo is physical evidence of fire hypnotization!! LOL!
I hope this little super easy Frosty the Snowman Bagel kids lunch, inspires you to find simple ways to make your kids lunch a little more special… once in a while. Don’t think I’m a crazy creative mom who feeds their children themed lunches often or anything. It’s a treat in this house. Let me know of some fun ways that you have created a winter themed lunch for the kiddos!! And if you have tips to keep the kids at the table (besides strapping them down), I’d love to hear them!
Until next time, have fun with your food, and create beautiful things everyday!
XO JCL
P.S. Here is a link to more of my fun kid themed meals! And a couple of links to must have kids meal items, that can be found on Amazon!

Thanks Brittany! I know… candles. Who would have thought that my attempt to create a love filled Valentines dinner would teach us how to keep the kids at the table… at least for now. Lol. ❤️
I’m normally not a fan of making my kids’ food into cute things… because I’m just not that good at it. But this is an idea that ‘s cute and simple enough for a mama like me!
I know! So simple right!?!? Im sure your kids would love anything that you would make them, crazy looking or great. At least my kids do. Lol. I only post the foods that kind of resemble what I had imagined in my mind. ❤️
