It’s Corbin’s first year in preschool on Valentine’s Day… That means he is so excited to be giving each of his classmates this cute Valentine! Also right away he knew that he wanted to get his classmates… Jewelry… of course my son wants to give jewelry to all his friends…
To make his jewelry giving dreams come true, I took him to the dollar store where he picked out some beads, and stretchy string, to make some super cute personalized beaded bracelets. I love how they turned out. Corbin is genius!
HOW TO MAKE A KIDS BEADED BRACELETS
MATERIALS NEEDED:
- Beads (We used square letter beads, and a bunch of round colored beads. I think there is some small long glass beads in there too, all found at the Dollar Tree)
- Stretch Magic Bead & Jewelry Cord/Stretchy String
- E 6000 Glue with Precision Tip/Or use E 6000 with a Tooth Pick
- Scissors
- Little Mesh Jewelry Gift Bags
- A Child & lots of Patients!!
METHOD:
Step 1: Write out all of the kiddos names that your child will be making beaded bracelets for, and make them search for each letter… This took Corbin a long time (2 days)… but he did it!!
Step 2: Cut some of your stretchy string at least 4 inches bigger than you need. You will need this extra string for ease of tying the knot at the end… Trust me… just do it…
Step 3: Tie 2 knots, about 2 inches from one end of your stretchy string, in the same place, to stop the beads from falling off the end of the string.
Step 4: Hold the stretchy string so your kiddo can put each bead on… very slowly… while they painstakingly pick each bead with love… while considering every aspect their friendship… dropping half of the beads… but they are so cute right… this is love….
Step 5: When the beaded bracelet is the perfect length (we chose small, and tight, so they wont fall off, and because this was taking WAY to long), tie about 6 knots in the stretchy string, and take a bit of E 6000 on the tip of a tooth pick, and put the glue on the knot to secure it.
NOTE: If you don’t use E 6000 glue you risk beaded bracelet explosion, devastation, tears, and questioning your life choices!!… Trust me….
Step 6: For beaded bracelet longevity, let the glue dry over night, then trim away excess stretchy string!
YAY… Beaded bracelets for everyone!!
Step 7: Package your lovingly made beaded bracelets in super cute mesh bags, and add fun little gift tags… such as Corbin’s “You Add So Much Colour To My Life” gift tags (water color art & saying, made by Corbin) – Free Printable can be found HERE!
I just got Corbin to write his name on each Valentine tag… each letter of his name took a lo-o-o-o-ong time, but he’s getting there. Then I hole punched the corner of him, I mean the gift tags, and tied them to his precious beautiful gifts. Like this…
I hope this tutorial inspires you to create special DIY personalized gifts, with your kiddos, and especially the DIY gift ideas that your kiddos come up with…
Making memories, exercising your patients, creating thoughtful gifts, exercising your patients… Parenthood is awesome!
Until next time, have an amazing love filled Valentine’s Day, and enjoy creating beautiful things everyday!

how many packages of stretch magic did you use?? These are so cute! what a fun idea
Hi Melissa! The Stretch Magic String that I used came in a 10 meter roll, so we didn’t come close to using it all. We actually made bracelets for one of Ivy’s birthday party activities and we still have a bit left after that too! I think one bracelet would use about 7 – 8 inches of the Stretch Magic (that’s providing a bit extra to be able to tie it closed too). I hope this helps, Have fun creating!
This is one of the best gift ideas for Valentine’s Day I’ve seen yet. So personal and also a good learning activity for my kids.
Thanks Jackie! Totally! Making these made learning fun!! Happy Valentine’s Day!

Thanks so much Madi, it was his first labor of love. Lol. And he’s getting good with his letters. He doesn’t know the names of most letters but he can match them!!
This is such a great idea! I know the kids will love receiving these!
