A girl needs all of her sewing/quilting supplies to look super cute and that is why I just had to make a super cute Needle Book! I saw this image of a Selvage Style Needle Book a few years ago when I first started sewing, which provided this Quilted Needle Case Tutorial.
I mixed my inspiration photo and the tutorial and came up with this super sweet Needle book.
I cut the selvages off of some of the fabrics I had around the house and machine sewed them together to create a sheet of cute salvages. I then created a quilt sandwich with quilt batting in the center and quilted the cover of the book with diagonal lines. ( the quilt batting that I used is located at the end if this post if you are interested in buying some yourself).
I bound the book with the same Pink Lion Fabric…
…and added this loop to keep the book closed.
I added this super cute clear aqua colored button for the loop to attach to and keep the book closed and the needles safe inside.
Then I added 2 sheets of felt fabric in 2 different shades of PINK by sewing it to the cover with a straight line down the spine of the book. These created 4 pages for my super cute book. You can’t really tell by this picture but the lighter pink felt fabric is SPARKLY!!
Then I added the needles. These are my super cute basting safety pins in their cute home.
I use this needle book all the time. It also doubles as my pincushion!
I hope you feel inspired to make your own Needle Book! I think that every girly sewer/quilter deserves to have their sewing supplies in their own super cute home.
Leave a comment about the fun creations you have made with your selvages! I would love to see your creations!
Have fun creating! “JUST SEW”
