Creepy Spider Chocolate Chip Cookies!

These super creepy spider chocolate chip cookies are so easy to make, and will be a hit with the kiddos who are brave enough to eat them! My kiddos were brave enough (shocker), although it took some convincing and now I’m scared I’ll find one of my kiddos in the basement with a real spider hanging out of their mouths. Oh the hooooror!! I have to admit that these awesome spider chocolate chip cookies are not a Jenna original idea (I know!!! I wish they were). I was inspired by Lauren’s blog called “Tastes Better From Scratch” and her blog post named “Chocolate Chip Spider Cookies!” They just looked too easy and yet horrifying, that I had to give them a try. Here is my creation!

Pretty creepy right!

So… To make these spider chocolate chip cookies all you need is your favourite Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe, and a Ziploc baggie! Yeah!! I know!! That’s it!! So now there are no excuses for not being a crafty person with this creation! I guess laziness could be an excuse… and the only excuse to not have spiders on your chocolate chip cookies this Halloween!

METHOD TO MAKE CREEPY SPIDER CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

Step 1: Cook your chocolate chip cookies following your favourite recipe! Here is a link to the recipe to make my favourite and The Best Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Step 2: Press 3 or 4.. or 5 or 6 chocolate chips into the top of your cookie (5 or 6 if you have massive cookies and want to make them super spidery).

Step 3: Add melted chocolate into a Ziploc baggie and snip the smallest tip off of one of the corners. You now have a spider leg piping bag! Just squeeze the chocolate out slowly onto the cookie to make the creepy spidery legs!

THAT’S IT! Just try not to eat them all in one day!!

Spider Chocolate Chip Cookies

The kids and I made these spider chocolate chip cookies for a friends Halloween party! I find parties a great excuse to bake something yummy, so that I can enjoy baking, without gaining the baking guilt (them lbs… if you know what I mean, I have no control)! Baking is always better when shared!

If I make cookies for our family I have a super sneaky way to make sure the cookies don’t go missing!! It pretty much just keeps me from eating them ALLLL. It’s our cookie Jar!! It is a Cookie Cop that yells “STOP… BACK AWAY FROM THE COOKIE JAR” every time you open it. And it’s LOUD!!!!! Which is good because everyone in the house will know that there is a hand in the cookie jar. Keeps me in check, that’s for sure!

Have you ever seen a boy so excited to open a cookie jar?

The cookie cops eyes and mouth actually move as it yells at you! This makes it even more intimidating to open! So if you have a cookie eating problem like I may or may not have…. this cookie cop was meant for you. Now you can have baking in the house but will have less temptation to eat them all in one sitting! Win win!! And the kids will think its lot of fun too!

Spider Chocolate Chip Cookies

I hope these awesomely horrifying spider chocolate chip cookies inspire you to create some for your own family, or make them and bring them to a Halloween party. They are so fast and easy to whip up, and they will be the hit of the party! Until next time, enjoy making your cookies creeeeepy and enjoy creating spooky things!
