Happy Week of LOVE! I love Valentine’s Day… Maybe because you get to appreciate all the amazing people in your life… maybe because of the Chocolate!!… Or maybe because you can get super creative by creating some fun and special Valentines! And so was born our cute Sign Language I Love You Cards! YAY!
Each year the kiddos have a special little Valentines Day party with their class at school. Last year we made some delicious easy to make Water Color Heart Royal Icing Sugar Cookies for their class Valentine’s Day Parties. But this year in the spirit of not sharing germs, class treats must be bought prepackaged. So instead of decorating homemade goodies, this year I came up with a cute way to decorate individually packaged Candy Bracelets! Check them out!
I have been dreaming of owning my own Cricut Cutting Machine for years now, and this past Christmas my dreams came true!! I recieved my first Cricut… the Cricut Explorer Air 2! Oh how my crafting world has exploded with new ideas, that now wont take me days to make.
Then I felt so overwhelmed by it, that I put off using it until NOW! These super cute Sign Language I love you hands are my first project ever! And I love how they turned out! I’ll teach you how to make some too!
Not only does the Cricut Explorer Air 2 cut things for you… It can also draw and write for you by using a Cricut pen! So all I had to do was design a simple draw and cut image, copy and paste it 25 times per kid, and push start on my Cricut machine! Here is how I made them!
MATERALS NEEDED TO MAKE SIGN LANGUAGE I LOVE YOU VALENTINES
- Cricut Machine (or you could cut them out by hand too)
- Cricut Pen (you could also write them by hand too)
- Cardstock Paper
- Foam Pop Dots
- Candy Bracelets – Dollar Tree
- Hot Glue Gun and How Glue Sticks (I love Gorilla Glue Sticks!)
- Glue Stick
STEPS TO MAKE SIGN LAUNGUAGE VALENTINES
Step #1: Design your Valentine on Cricut Design Space. If you have access to their SVG files then you are golden, but I haven’t subscribed yet, so instead some files are available for a small fee. I bought this sign Language I Love You SVG for .99 cents.
I then copy and pasted it 25 times and programed my Cricut machine to cut it out of some different shades of pink, yellow, and brown cardstock paper.
Step #2: Add writing to your design. I used the heart shape provided in Cricut Design Space, and then layered some writing over top. I love the saying “Friendship is the Sweetest Form of LOVE.” And I thought it was prefect for some kids Valentines.
I also designed some smaller hearts that said “LOVE Ivy” and “LOVE Corbin” to glue to the back of the Valentines.
Step #3: After it was all cut out, I used a Foam Pop Dot to make the heart pop off the hand, and I glued the “LOVE Ivy” or “Love Corbin” to the backs of the Valentines.
Step #4: Last step is to hot glue your Candy Bracelets to the wrist of the Valentines. And you are DONE! Voila!
