When I was a kid, I remember how much I loved the day we got to decorate the house for Christmas!! We were never over the top… A Christmas tree and a couple of decorations for the fireplace mantel, I remember so wanting to have a special decoration for my room too! And I remember the Christmas that my mom got us (my bro and I), our own little decoration that we could place around the door handle of our rooms! I thought it was sooo special!
Now a days, when it comes to decorating my own home with my family, we still decorate with those same ornaments that have been passed down through the family, but I wanted the kiddos to feel that their rooms were a little special too, so I decided to make them their own Easy Christmas DIY Wreath for each of their bedroom doors! Check them out. They were super simple to put together with items that were already in my craft room, or in our Christmas decorations stash! You can make one too! wink!
SIDE NOTE: If you are looking for some fun DIY Christmas Stocking inspiration… Check out my fun, easy to make, personalized, Pom Pom stockings! They are very loved in our house!
HOW TO MAKE AN EASY CHRISTMAS DIY WREATH
MATERIALS NEEDED:
- Wire Wreath Frame (any wreath form will work)
- Yarn
- Small piece of Quilt Batting (for snow)
- Bottle Brush Christmas Trees
- Miniature Figurine
- Hot Glue Gun and Hot Glue Sticks
- Ornaments (optional)
MATERIALS USED FOR IVY’S BEDROOM DOOR WREATH:
MATERIALS USED FOR CORBIN’S BEDROOM DOOR WREATH:
METHOD:
Step 1: Wrap the yarn around, and around the wreath frame, without over lapping it. Cover the whole frame, and tie the 2 ends together to secure it.
Step 2: Hot glue a piece of quilt batting to the bottom inside of the wreath to look like snow.
Step 3: (Optional) Decorate your Bottle Brush Christmas Trees. I decided to wrap some gold wire twine around one of the trees to spice it up a bit. I also bleached Ivy’s trees white. they originally were green, like the ones on Corbin’s wreath.
- To bleach trees fill a large bowl with 25% bleach, and 75% water. Place trees into the bowl, and let them sit until the green disintegrates off of them (which takes about 10 minutes). Take them out, and rinse them off with water. Let them sit to dry. You can then dye or decorate your bottle brush trees!
Step 4: Hot glue the Bottle Brush Christmas Trees, and miniature figurines on top of the snow.
Step 5: Add Christmas ornaments to the top of the wreath.
Step 6: Use command hooks on your child’s door, to hang your new super cute child’s wreath.
I hope this Easy Christmas DIY Wreath tutorial inspires you to find things around your house to decorate with. Creating a cute little winter scene on a wreath is a fun way to add a little whimsy to your kiddos room this holiday!
Until next time, Happy holidays, and enjoy creating beautiful things everyday!

This is the cutest idea for a winter weather it is like a 3D snow globe and really reminds me of the old school claymation Rudolph and Frosty cartoons. I love them!
