To add to the baby stuff cuteness factor I made a list of sewing patterns to create the cutest DIY baby toys! All would make the best baby shower gift ideas, baby’s first Christmas gifts, or just because sewing projects! How to Sew Baby Blocks With Taggies! – Tutorial! – from Making Things is Awesome
First up are Fabric Baby Blocks! They are so easy to whip up and you can customize them with different patterned fabrics, different textured fabrics, adding letters of the baby’s name, adding taggies to the sides (as shown), or putting something inside them (such as a noise maker; bell, crinkle paper). They are a huge hit at baby showers and would make a cute addition to any babies toy collection. I love these blocks so much!
Wooden Ring Crinkle Teether DIY – from A Beautiful Mess
Wooden Ring Crinkle Teether Toys are very popular right now and instead of buying one premade, you can make one, or two, or 20 yourself!! A Beautiful Mess created this beautiful easy to follow DIY Baby Toy tutorial (they have so many awesome tutorials- you need to check them out), plus they crinkle!! They would make an awesome homemade addition to any baby gift idea!
DIY Felt Crinkle Conversation Hearts – from Hello Bee
These Crinkle Conversation Hearts are the cutest DIY baby toys EVER! besides being super cute for babies they are awesome or letter recognition as the baby gets a bit older, and just super cute room decor as the kiddos gets even older! I wish I had thought of this DIY toy idea! Simple cute and will attract all the babies on the block!
How To Sew Easy Baby Toys! – From Making Things is Awesome
Simple to make baby cloth chew toys. They can be made in any shape you can think up and if you add a little rattle inside they can become a soft baby rattle! Whip one or two up as a fun DIY baby toys gift. I have made tones of these suckers and they always impress! The little taggies also double as a way to attach them to strollers, or baby car seats, so that they don’t get lost while on all your daily adventures! I can’t wait to think up new shapes to create! Love them!
Modular Star Tutorial – from Kid Giddy
Isnt this modular star the cutest! I want to go make one right now!! There are lots of little pieces, but it looks easy enough to put together once you have all your pieces cut out! I think it looks like a beautiful heirloom gift idea that any new mommy would love… and baby would love to sink their mouths onto! So cute!
Sew a Sleepy Sloth Snuggler – from Hello Bee
I was looking for a super cute Lovie DIY baby toy to add to this list, and I couldn’t resist this oversized Sleepy Sloth Snuggler! It looks easy to sew up in an afternoon to gift the next day at a baby shower! It doubles as a cute little blanket depending on the size that you are going for. I look forward to making one for a friends new baby soon! So cute!
Patchwork Play Ball Made With English Paper Piecing – from While She naps
Make your own Baby Patchwork Play Balls. They are beautiful! They are made using English Paper Piecing, which I haven’t tried yet, but is high on my list of crafts to check off. I love how perfectly round they turned out and can see the kiddos using them as indoor balls for years to come! Beautiful!
How-To: Fabric Picture Book – from Momtastic
Now this idea of creating a Fabric Picture Book is very high on my list of things to make! I love this idea so much I couldn’t choose between this style of book an another that can be found on this list. This one looks a bit easier to pull off as a DIY baby toy gift idea! Looks a little less time-consuming and looks like it will survive lots of love from anything that a baby does to it! I think this might be my next gift idea for a friend who is expecting!
Baby Play Mat Quilt! – from Making Things is Awesome
This baby Play mat Quilt was very loved in our family… and is now loved by any little ones that come to visit our house. It is the perfect super easy play mat that can also be used as a quilt. Babies love the bunting/tags, and you can get creative by adding pictures on one side of the tags to create a little search and find game. So fun!
Elsie’s Adoption Book (and How to Make Your Own Soft Book!) – from A Beautiful Mess
And Last but not least is this beautiful photo book by A Beautiful Mess. Although this is an adoption book (which I think is an awesome and perfect little gift for any little child transitioning into a new home), you could make one for any child in your life. I think this is such a beautiful idea, and I can’t wait to make one too. I was thinking of doing photos of their favorite places… like the park, beach, friends house, or maybe Daddy’s work, or Mommy’s work?!?! Or maybe one of all their little buddies faces! LOL… So many customizable options. Love it!

I feel ya! My sewing has slowed down considerably since the kiddos were born too. No sewing gets done unless it’s when they are sleeping, and that’s when I’m tired too. Lol. Maybe once they are in school. LOL. Have an awesome day!
